Pleasant-Lake
is situated in Lower Michigan, just four miles north of the city of Cadillac and 50 minutes to Grand Traverse Bay. It's known as an excellent fishing lake for Bluegill, Pike, Large and Small Mouth Bass and Sun Fish. Approximately thirty minutes from Pleasant Lake is The Tippee Dam which is known for its' Steelhead and Lake Trout. Many other area lakes and thousands of acres of state and federal lands offers endless recreational activities such as swimming, canoeing and kayaking, tubing, hiking, biking, cross country skiing and snowmobiling. There are twelve golf courses located in the Pleasant Lake area and it's only a few miles to the Caberfae Peaks, the highest lift-served peaks in Michigan that offers some of the best skiing in the state. In addition to downhill skiing, there are five different trail systems for cross-country skiing at Caberfae. The nearby town of Cadillac offers shopping, cafes and restaurants, and a six mile bike path that goes around Lake Cadillac. The town is also home to the North American Snowmobile Festival, an annual event for over twenty years, usually held in early February.

Four distinct seasons with a lake effect that is quite strong during much of the year describes the climate of the northern region of Michigan's Lower Peninsula. The lake effect increases cloudiness and snowfall during late fall and winter, and also modifies the temperatures - keeping them cooler in the summer. Northwest Michigan sees a lot of moisture throughout the year in the form of showers and thunderstorms during the summer and snow and ice during the winter. In winter, the humidity from the lake condenses as snow when it reaches land, creating quite heavy snowfalls in some areas. During the winter, the temperature of the lakes continues to drop, and ice sometimes covers portions of the lakes. Summers are warm, but periods of extreme heat and humidity are infrequent.
